Evidence for the Resurrection

Evidence for the Resurrection

The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the most important event in Christianity (1 Cor. 15). Every Christian should proclaim the good news of the gospel based on the resurrection of Christ. What is particularly great is that we have the most evidence for the resurrection! In this episode Dan runs through the criteria for reliable documentation and how the New Testament stands stronger than any other document from history. Then, we discuss the martyrdom of the eyewitnesses, giving credence to their profession of faith. Last, we talk about counters to critical questions that arise.

Faithful Stewardship with Chuck DeLadurnatey

Faithful Stewardship with Chuck DeLadurnatey

Many of our listeners are familiar with the troubling state of finances in the United States. Between inflation, oppressive taxation, fractional reserve banking, the national debt, and the Federal Reserve, it is a hard time to build an inheritance for your children’s children. Most of us know there is a problem, but few of us know what to do to stop the bleeding. So, most of us watch our 401ks fail to keep up with inflation. Despite what certain radio personalities might say, 12% returns on Mutual Funds aren’t the norm.

In this episode, we talk about how to fight for our grandchildren with our banking. Most of us are not leveraging big investment funds, but all of us are working. You have more money than you think you do, and you are going to earn a lot more.

Chuck DeLadurantey from Private Family Banking joins us to talk through biblical concepts of banking and how to faithfully leverage our finances in ways that benefit ourselves, our families, our churches, and the Kingdom of Christ.

Biblical Justice Not Social Justice

Biblical Justice Not Social Justice

The language and mentality of social justice has been permeating the American mind for years, only to come into the foreground in 2020. The terminology has become somewhat ubiquitous, but few seem equipped to respond to it biblically. In this episode, we cover some terminology and equip you with Scripture and understanding to address the errors of Critical Theory, Cultural Marxism, and the like.

Moral Failures, Church Recovery, and Pastoral Cleanup | Interview with Mitch Schultz

Moral Failures, Church Recovery, and Pastoral Cleanup | Interview with Mitch Schultz

Years ago Mitch Schultz was asked to step in to pastor a church after the previous pastor had a moral failure. Little did he know that in addition to the hurt and fallout from the last pastor's affair, there were several significant problems in the church that were not disclosed. He went through tremendous hurt, but gained valuable insight on how churches should apply discipline and how churches can be built up after devastation.

You Can't Lose Your Salvation

You Can't Lose Your Salvation

Recently, I preached a sermon on Romans 8 in which we saw the “Golden Chain” of redemption described by Paul. God decreed our salvation from before the foundation of the world, predestining the elect to be conformed to the image of Christ. We can have confidence in the hope of our salvation. The sermon led to a few questions about passages such as Revelation 3:5-6 and 1 John 1:9 and how they fit into this reality. I’ve taken some time to address the question in this brief podcast episode.

Resistance

Resistance

Jesus’ command to make disciples in Matthew 28:19 is directly linked to the reality that all authority has been given to Him. He is King. Further, verse 20 reminds us that we are disciple the nations to obey Him. Understanding the fact that all authority is under Christ puts the spheres of authority in their proper place. Husbands oversee homes (Ephesians 5). Elders oversee churches (Hebrews 13). Magistrates oversee civil matters (Romans 13). The question at hand is what to do when the governing authorities overstep their role and become tyrants. This episode addresses a few key instances of imposition in Scripture and Church History.

Why We Fight

Why We Fight

Recent decades have seen a decline in faithful, confessing Christians willing to give something more than mere lip service to the Kingdom of God. As Voddie Baucham says, evangelicalism has developed an unspoken “eleventh commandment” to be nice. It has been assumed that “niceness” is holiness. The contrary is often true. While we are to be kind, we are also commanded to contend for the faith (Jude 3). In this episode, we discuss what is at risk as “evangellyfish” focus more on being soft than on fighting for the faith.

Introduction | The Gospel is Everything

Introduction | The Gospel is Everything

Welcome to the Pugilist Podcast where we engage in theological fisticuffs, doctrinal insurgency, asymmetrical apologetic kung fu, rampart catechesis, sincere love, fellowship, and the joy of the Lord.

TheGospel is central. It's of the utmost importance. However, you can’t dismiss issues as unimportant because they “aren’t the gospel” as every aspect of Scripture is tied to the gospel somehow. In this episode, we introduce the podcast and talk about why some "secondary issues" are still really important. We will be in 1 Corinthians 15.
